About Us

The Heritage Railways Trust for the 9.5 Inch Gauge was established to preserve and promote the history, heritage, and future understanding of 9.5 inch gauge railways for the public benefit. Our mission remains the protection, research, and interpretation of historic railway assets, ensuring that their significance is not lost to time and that knowledge is shared with future generations.

Following an initial period of setup activity, the Trust is currently in a holding phase, with its work paused while we await the right conditions and opportunities to move forward in a meaningful and sustainable way. This period of inactivity does not reflect a change in purpose. Rather, it reflects a commitment to ensuring that when activity resumes, it does so with appropriate resources, clarity of direction, and long-term viability.

The founding objectives of the Trust remain unchanged, and we continue to hold a strong interest in the preservation and future of 9.5 inch gauge heritage railways.
